5 years to release an album is Nightwish-level teasing! 😝
  2. There's also a lyrical video now, and it's quite nice.

Not really Xandria news but related: Dianne van Giersbergen teases a solo album... to be released in 5 years?! https://www.facebook.com/diannevangiersbergenofficial "Let's kick-start the new year by revealing the title of my first solo album! Without further ado, I give you... "π™Žπ™Šπ™π™‡π™’π˜Όπ™π˜Ώ π˜½π™Šπ™π™‰π˜Ώ" "Soulward Bound" will be a symphonic metal album on which my operatic voice will once more soar and blossom. It will feature many befriended musicians from the genre and will be co-written and produced by Joost van den Broek. I've chosen "Soulward Bound" as my album title, as it embodies the drive and devotion that guided me on my journey towards finding myself again, after leaving Xandria 5 years ago. In the upcoming 5 years, I will release various singles that will together form this journey and will become "Soulward Bound". The release date and title of my first single will be announced in one of the following updates! Happy new year to all of you! Let's make 2023 count!"
  4. "I am thrilled to share my new single, "Invincible," with all of you. Originally written specifically for the Invictus Games, this song holds a very special place in my heart. As someone who has witnessed the effects of PTSD in my close circle, I wanted to create a powerful anthem that brings hope and strength to those who are struggling with this condition. 'Invincible' is a song about resilience, about pushing through difficult times, and about finding the strength to start again. I believe that this message is one that will resonate with many, as PTSD affects 1 in 13 people in their lifetime, and women are twice as likely to develop it as men. I hope that 'Invincible' will remind you that even in the darkest of times, there is always the possibility of coming out stronger. You are not alone, and no matter how difficult the journey may be, there is always hope for healing and self-discovery. My debut album, Paragon, is releasing this March 24, 2023!" Beautifully sung, and worthy topic, but I don't know, it's a bit... bland? When Floor was writing for herself the songs had more character.

Sounds like Marko at 0:27-0:30! 😁

Here's the video -- more of a lyrical video like the one to Endless Forms Most Beautiful. It's not a bad track by any means, but I like the previous singles more. Diana Leah says on YouTube: " This song was the last song written for our new album β€œDark Waters” and I’m proud to say I had the opportunity to write the lyrics for it! It has a deep meaning to me."

A new single has just been released, 'Moth To A Flame'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlRm3aUzl74 Video to follow later today.
  8. "This Friday I'll share my new track "Invincible" with all of you. This song tackles a sensitive and important subject."
  9. Tuomas talking about the usual things, but with some fresh updates. The title is sort of misleading, given Tuomas' actual answer below. FEATURE INTERVIEW – NIGHTWISH β€œTHERE WILL BE A NEW ALBUM IN SPRING 2024” TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN Posted on January 5, 2023 by Oran https://www.overdrive.ie/feature-interview-nightwish-there-will-be-a-new-album-in-spring-2024-tuomas-holopainen/ "I can’t even begin to understand the stress levels for the booking agents who have had to change things around so many times now. It’s been a nightmare." "The first show of this leg in Antwerp was just so emotional for all of us, but especially for Floor. It all came out during the song, β€˜Sleeping Sunβ€˜, she couldn’t sing the song towards the end, and she just broke down. It was a positive break down, if you know what I mean. It was just a huge release of so much anxiety, and pressure that had been building up inside her. It was a culmination of beating Cancer, finally do this tour, and that her voice was good enough to do what she loves to do. All of that came out at the same time, and it’s been wonderful ever since." "The pre-production [of β€˜An Evening with in a virtual World’] was created by all of these wonderful people, and then the band got involved on the last eight days of the project. We were rehearsing in a green cube with just two camera men, and that was basically it." "Yes, the studio is booked, and the album is expected to be released in Spring/Summer/Autumn of 2024." "I’ve been writing fictional stories, and at the moment, I’ve got about fifteen. There is a publisher in Finland that is very interested in taking them on, but I feel that I need a few more stories before I will consider publishing them." "[The escalating cost of touring is] a massive problem. For example, tickets for this tour were sold in 2019 for this European leg, and now we’re paying 2022 costs. Our catering costs have risen by three times, the price of fuel. So, regardless that we’ve sold more tickets than every before, the costs of running the tour cancels out the profit margins. My wife is a singer, and has been for fifteen years, and the Pandemic took it all away. Now she has started a new company doing fantasy knit ware called Auriwear [click here]. I’m so proud of her, because she came to me and said; β€œI can’t do music anymore! But I have to come up with something else”, and throughout the whole lockdown period, she was just knitting so many things, and setting up this new venture."
  10. Just a quick note to mention that over the holidays I received my copy of Twice... and wow I must say I'm impressed! The new songs are great, adding a lot to the original EP ('Unemployed Blacksmiths'). 'Dark Chest Of Wonders' is great for the inclusion of Tarja and Tapio, but I love the slowed-down version of 'Last Ride Of The Day', 'Ever Dream' in a Frank Sinatra style is surprisingly good, the electronic remix of 'I Want My Tears Back' is hilarious (in a good way, and Tuomas must have had a great time!), and Western-style instrumental 'Eva' is fabulous. 'We Were Here' (fragment of The Greatest Show) is very similar musically to the original, but sung by a crew chorus manages to remain emotional. As a full-blown record Twice is a coherent offering that I will want to listen to more than once -- pun not intended! 😁 Also, Crewish have published a making-of video on YouTube a few days ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjyyASqnb80
  11. I never know if those should be going under Nightwish or Floor Jansen, but anyway here's another interview with Floor. It's just been released but it was done back in June 2022. The Heavy Hooks Show - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMhmiA4XQ6I A nice conversation but nothing really new. Floor does mention that NW are not doing long tours anymore in order to keep sane. 😁
  12. Only a month left! Hopefully Floor will have recovered fully from her treatments. No news of a possible rescheduling of the Asian shows yet. Also, today is the 25h anniversary of the band's first live show, in Kitee! 🀘
  13. We're almost done with 2022, some of us sooner than later depending on the time zone... so I wish you all a Happy New Year, may 2023 be a good one for you! 2022 was a generally positive year for the band. After loosing Marko in 2021, they managed to regroup and after a few false starts finally got their Human Nature tour rolling in April 2022. They also released this year a DVD and Blu-Ray of their 2021 virtual performance, but not much else unfortunately. Floor was very active herself, releasing her first solo material and performing more solo shows. 2023 will be a big year with the release of her first solo album and more shows lined up. But also 2023 will see the final round of her battle against breast cancer, with hopefully the final treatments taking place in January. The Human Nature tour keeps going in 2023, with the last shows planned for June after which the band will start rehearsing and recording their 10th album due for a 2024 release. So lots of thing to look forward to in 2023! Keep safe, stay healthy, and thanks for checking in here at Every Tale True! 🀘
  14. Thank you Moondance, and thank you all for hanging out with me and following this great band! I wish you all very Happy Holidays, may you get a chance to recharge your batteries before heading into 2023! I'm still unpacking from my move but I will be around during the Holidays as I don't have any travel plans. Keep safe but party hard! 🀟 Or is it the other way around?
  15. And here's Sahara feat. Yannis Papadopoulos! It's actually quite enjoyable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Up_bIbVqXaw

    Eye Of Melian

From Instagram -- not sure if this is actually the 2nd CD of the album somehow repackaged? https://www.instagram.com/p/CmZHdHVqQnF/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY%3D 'Legends of Light - Instrumental Versions' - COMING SOON!! 🎹✨ Hello everyone! We hope you are enjoying some winter/holiday coziness and cheer. πŸŽ„β˜ΊοΈβ„οΈ We have an exciting announcement... the elven ships are coming in to deliver 'Legends of Light - Instrumental Versions' to all of you just in time for Christmas! 🎁✨ The instrumental album will be released ✨THIS FRIDAY (Dec 23rd)✨ to all streaming platforms and will also be available for download on the Eye of Melian webshop and Bandcamp. We'll post all the links on Friday so keep an eye out!! Update: Indeed this is not new material. According to a promotional email: "Some of you may have heard the instrumentals already if you purchased the physical CD. These are included on CD II. However, we know many people chose to stream online or purchase a digital download instead. If that was you, then these will be brand new to you! But whether you've heard the instrumental versions before or if today will be the first time, we hope you will hear lofty and subtle strains of new magic that were previously hidden beneath the ethereal vocals of the original album and be swept away into the starry expanse of Legends of Light all over again!"
  18. On social media Floor shares some thoughts at the end of this exhausting (I imagine) tour leg. πŸ–€ "Just minutes before the final show of our European tour at the sold out O2 Arena in Prague, I am filled with so many emotions. This tour has been an incredible journey for me, both personally and professionally. On a personal level, it's been a challenge recovering from surgery and preparing for radiation therapy, but every day has gotten a little better thanks to the energy of performing with Nightwish, love from friends and family & feeling the power & love from our amazing fans. And on a professional level, it's been an unforgettable experience. From the two sold out shows in Amsterdam where we were joined by Henk Poort for a special performance of The Phantom of the Opera, to the 22 shows we've played across Europe, every moment has been a highlight. I am so grateful for the opportunity to do what I love, and for the support of our fans, who have been with us every step of the way. Thank you for your undying support. "
  19. Indeed, on setlist.fm Yannis Papadopoulos is credited on Sahara. I haven't found a recording on YouTube yet, I'm sure it will surface sooner than later! Within Temptation

Just give it to me now, it's past midnight here! 😁
  23. I will not accept that this doesn't get a proper live recording! πŸ”₯ Get on it, Tuomas!
  24. I see that Elan has also climbed to 389 (up from 481), but Floor and Henk have beaten them all with The Phantom at 68 (up from 75)! 😁
  25. I wonder if Floor would give a shot at singing Endlessness... together with Troy? πŸ‘€ I don't know if it would be blasphemy, but still I'd like to hear this one live more than anything else on Human Nature and chances are Marko is not going to guest star anytime soon. πŸ˜ͺ
