Fugazi replied to Fugazi's topic in Side Projects and Previous Bands
https://www.floorjansen.com/news/floor-jansen-announced-afas-live-amsterdam-show I am beyond excited to announce that I will be returning to AFAS Live on December 8, 2023 for a special night of music and entertainment! This will be a bigger production than ever before, and I will be performing songs from my upcoming album, Paragon, as well as other classics and hits from my career. Get your tickets now before they're gone! Ticket sales will start Dec 15, 10 AM CET! -
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I missed a good number of things on my first watch! I'm sure it's a movie that keeps on giving. π

Apocalyptica + Epica? More like Simone Simons singing with Apocalyptica, the result is very pleasing and reminds me a bit of a ballad like 'Rivers' on Epica's latest album. Rise Again π₯

Indeed! And the Gelsenkirchen venue is not too bad either, with the river flowing right behind the scene! π -

Sorry for not being around much for a couple of days, I was moving house on Friday and I'm still unpacking and trying to be at least functional for work tomorrow! I'll catch up this week and update things in time for the conclusion of the European tour. π€ I see you made up for the poor venue in Frankfurt! Are you still going to Prague? -
New interview, a nice discussion about Marko's singing background and evolution.

I know right? π It's one of my guilty Nigtwish pleasures, with Alpenglow, Rest Calm, White Night Fantasy and probably others I can't think of right now! They have so much depth in their discography. -

Wow thanks! π It's beautiful! I mean, I wouldn't want Nightwish to start playing sets full of acoustic folk songs, but I do love a slower song peppered here and there. I'm surprised that Floor chose to make this one even mellower by going acoustic, but it makes sense as a replacement in the set to How's The Heart. The whole vibe, with Kai playing those shakers, reminds me of the acoustic set during the Baltic cruise. Can they please play Edema Ruh again now? π₯Ίπ -

I know, it's the first time I see it mentioned like this. Either it's someone new to the band and/or to editing setlist.fm, or Tuomas really tried something different tonight, which would be surprising to say the least! π Still nothing on YouTube from Hamburg, I can't wait to see Our Decades and Tuomas playing Metallica! π€ -

In other news, the forum mailbox was 'spammed' by this: So I guess the NW cruise is still happening despite Floor's treatments in January? π€ -
Wait what? It took them 6 years to translate it? π€ Or was it available before and this is a reprint?

π€© Any of your ideas would be great, now put them all together, call Tarja too while we're at it, and party like it's 1999 again! π Seriously, it would be a great opportunity to celebrate Tuomas playing for his hometown, but I doubt they will go back to the oldies repertoire... But Marko singing Endlessness, that would make my day too! Anyway, another surprise in Hamburg tonight, the long awaited (by some, anyway π) first live performance of PAN Our Decades In The Sun! Can't wait to see videos. I wonder if it will sound any different from the solo Floor version. Indeed, and if they're considering special guests or special songs in Kitee then a DVD would sell like hot cakes! -
Yeah I thought he was going to retire after EMFB, but he did the arrangements for Human Nature as well... I don't know if he's still active but there's no evidence to the contrary on the net. π€

First echoes from the Bamberg show, it would appear that they didn't play Sahara, but the quickest setlist.fm editors are wrong half of the time! π Edit: Yeah they did play Sahara! That's disappointing, but it does explain the very limited filming equipment they used. They could still use some material as bonus tracks on a DVD recorded later during the tour, like they did for Vehicle Of Spirit. They could film Kitee for instance... Welcome to the forums, obrien! Sorry to hear that the sound was poor at your show, sometimes it changes a lot depending on where you're sitting/standing in the venue. Prague could be extra special though, last show of the European tour! -
Is Pip Williams still active? He's been arranging Nightwish orchestral parts for like 20 years now.
-
Paulo Ribaldini does a good job standing in for Marko, maybe Nightwish could invite him over once in a while? π
