  1. 2021: Jukka Koskinen introduced revealed as the new session bass player
  2. No picks from this list so far... Still hoping for tomorrow night though ahah. ๐Ÿ˜œ Kidding of course, they just have too much material now to go back to any of these.
  3. Loads of songs now being uploaded on YouTube... They will probably be taken down by the label as soon as they notice.
  4. Thanks, much appreciated! Doing my best with the little spare time I have! Thanks for sticking around! ๐Ÿค˜
  5. 11. Nemo They've already played stuff from every album except for Oceanborn and Angels Fall First. Troy on guitar! ๐Ÿ‘ Floor killed it again! 12. How's The Heart (Acoustic) They caught on how this one was a huge hit on YouTube. The band is coming back! Fantastic. 13. Shoemaker Guitarz! Goosebumps. Unbelievable... such stamina. 14. Last Ride Of The Day Floor is carrying this show on her shoulders more than ever. But solid performance from everyone. 15. Ghost Love Score No words. Still amazing. 16. The Greatest Show On Earth Are they really going to play this whole?? E-bow for the win. Jukka has the stage presence of Sami. But it's not a real stage so I can't imagine anyone being too hyped about performing before a couple of cameras. I hope we can buy this on DVD with better resolution. Man, that Ad Astra bit brought me to tears. Totally unexpected. Floor is a beast, it can never be said enough. So glad they ditched the "We are going to die" speech. ๐Ÿคฃ I still miss Marko, but I think I can get used to Marko-less Nightwish. They won their bet.
  6. 9. I Want My Tears Back Sounds different without Marko... but it brings some variety for a song that's been perhaps overplayed. Did Troy forget to sing there? Oops! 10. Bless The Child Nicely done.
  7. 8. 7 Days To The Wolves I'm very curious about this one... Actually it works well enough with Troy. I must say that the digital scenery is pretty static... not much in the way of interaction with the music. Floor delivers beyond expectations.
  8. 5. Storytime Man this was fabulous! Impressive how effortlessly she sings this one now. 6. She Is My Sin Difficult songs back to back. We don't see much of Jukka. 7. Harvest Let's hear Troy now... Again very tasteful vocal duet... And the instrumental interlude is fire.
  9. 3. Tribal Another challenging one! The virtual sets are rather nice. Go KAI! Tasteful backing vocals by Troi. Strong voice performance by Floor ๐Ÿค˜ 4. Elan Nicely done. Some taped backing tracks but that's nothing new. Jukka seems a bit stiff.
  10. Enjoy the show! ๐Ÿค˜ A few thoughts on the fly: 1. Noise Floor is in great voice! Troy does a good job on backing vocals. 2. Planet Hell Hell yeah! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ This goes back to 2012 with Floor! And she does both vocal lines! Wow this is unreal...
  11. "Jukka Koskinen will be our session bass player and join us for our Human. :||: Nature. world tour! Finally we can share the awaited news with you all! " Jukka: โ€I couldnโ€™t be more honoured to be part of the vehicle of spirit of Nightwish on its onward journey sharing special live moments to come on the Human. :II: Nature. - tour with all of you out there!โ€ Jukka says there were no scheduled events with Wintersun in the near future and that he's fully committed to NW for the next few years. 12. There's a partial setlist going round... not sure if from the 1st or second show... 7 Days without Marko? Let see how it goes. No big surprises so far, though I'm pleasantly surprised at the return of 7DTTW. I'm also glad they changed their mind about Shoemaker.
  13. Still not available... Oh, 12 minutes to go... ๐Ÿค˜ There's a partial setlist going round...
  14. Yes I do. Not sure if the expense will be worth it, but I guess I can afford to support the band and I'd rather find out who the bassist is before the show! Here in North America we don't get any goodies (t-shirts) with the VIP option. Which reminds me... I will set up a dedicated topic here for spoilers from the interview, if people would rather not be spoiled before the show.
  15. There should be a chat available later on but there's no interactive area for now. Did you manage to log in and validate your tickets?
  16. A new interview about Marko and his replacement: Marko Hietala's departure was a huge shock to Nightwish's members - the band is now revealing new information about Hietala's replacement https://www.mtvuutiset.fi/artikkeli/marko-hietalan-lahto-oli-nightwishin-jasenille-taydellinen-sokki-yhtye-paljastaa-nyt-uutta-tietoa-hietalan-korvaajasta/8153144 2021-05-27 Nightwish's history includes several dramatic twists and turns, the most recent of which was seen in January, when the band's longtime bassist-singer Marko Hietala decided to step aside from the band's ranks. Hietala had time to play in the band for almost two full decades. Nightwish's keyboardist and lead character Tuomas Holopainen reveals that inside the band they were aware of Hietala's feelings. - We were aware of Mark's thoughts and he was very open about it. His departure was still a huge shock. Hietala is known as a talented multi-instrumentalist, and in addition to his role as bassist, he held several different positions at Nightwish. However, finding a replacement was not very difficult, according to Holopainen. - We had a few names in mind, and then they started asking about it, says the band's drummer Kai Hahto. At the same time, Hahto wants to make it clear that the bandโ€™s bassist is a new person who does things his own way. - Marko is such an iconic and unique character that the last thing we want to do is try to monkey or replace him, Holopainen says. - The new member of the band must be completely himself, and this is what he has now been able to do, he continues. The band members have not talked to Marko since he left. - Marko now wants to be at home in peace, and let it be granted to him, Holopainen says. Playing with a new member has gone well. In addition to drums, the bass is an integral part of the band's rhythm section. According to Hahto, the collaboration with the new bassist has gone well. - It feels really good. It's easy to play with a friend. Nightwish will play two large-scale virtual concerts later this week. The band's new bassist will be unveiled on Friday during the first virtual gig.
  17. A new interview with Tuomas from Powermetal.de https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYkf_QgxwQ0 Some highlights: -Nightwish was created around July 5 or 7, 1996. -Virtual show has no pyros, no extra lighting, no contrived interaction with the (absent) crowd -- only the digital environment. -The new bass player has been phenomenal and fits very well with the band. -No songs from the first 2 albums, at least for the virtual shows. -Tens of thousands of tickets have been sold for the virtual shows, but no exact figures. -Tuomas' lifetime favourite song: Fields of Coral by Vangelis, still listens to it almost every day.
  18. Link to the event (and for ticket validation).
  19. Kai has published on his FB a great photo of the band rehearsing in front of green screens... and we can plainly see that Floor has taken up bass duties! ๐Ÿ˜† Interesting to note that Tuomas is now center stage... if we can consider it a stage. Now speculation abounds as to the actual owner of that Fender bass...
