A few items revealed in a recent interview to a French magazine: Tuomas has finished or is about to finish writing a book which should be ready in a year or so. I'm crossing fingers for an autobiography, although it's probably not one. But I suppose there's a little insight into Tuomas' in every one of his works. Also, the new Auri album should be ready in about 2 months (not sure when exactly the interview was made though).

While Floor is building up her YouTube channel, Marko is competing in a Finnish TV singing contest -- or so I believe, I can't really figure it out! Oh and forgive me for mentioning his name, I think we're not supposed to know it's Marko. π It's a masked singer contest, after all. So far he did a number of covers that are quite outside his usual range, and it's fun to imagine him smiling under that ugly mask! A new live performance released, this time Elvenjig/Elvenpath from October 4 2018 in Bogota! Considering this is a show where reportedly Floor was not feeling so good (flu?), it's still a fine performance and the guys look like they're having great fun on stage! π Were any other venues filmed on the Decades tour, besides Bogota and Buenos Aires?

tour 2021-23 Human :||: Nature World Tour Discussion
Fugazi replied to Fugazi's topic in Nightwish Live
This interview with Troy in Metal Hammer could also go in the Media forum, but since it's mostly about the upcoming tour, I decided to put it here. Road Trippin' - NIGHTWISH Our favourite Finns are due to hit arenas on their rescheduled dates next year. MH: How many logistics are involved in having to put an arena tour back a few months? There must be so many components... Troy: Too many to mention. It's horrendous, actually. It's been bad enough for us having to wipe our diaries clean, but for management, crew, promoters etc it's much worse. It's quite nightmarish because nothing is written in stone -- the stone is moving all the time at at the moment we can't even find it! MH: What can you tell us about the show you have planned? Troy: We have tried to move forward with the production yet again, with lots of exciting innovations to hopefully blow our audiences' minds. We are desperate to get back out there. We are supposed to kick off the world tour next March in China, of all places, but who knows? We do have a plan for something big during rehearsals through February but I'm not allowed to breathe a word on it; suffice to say, it could be really groundbreaking if it's even half as astounding as it's been described to us... MH: Once you finally get on the road, what songs from Human :||: Nature are you most looking forward to playing live? Troy: All of them, but Shoemaker is going to be fun, and Harvest of course. It's going to be really interesting seeing/hearing the reaction to it 'live' because the album is going to be deeply embedded in our audience by the time we get back out and they will know every detail, so we'd better get it right. MH: Have the band got together to work on anything during this time? Troy: Unfortunately no, and it's been awful not seeing and being with everyone, but with all this unexpected time on our hands it has turned out very well for our celestial metal band, Auri. I am at the moment in Finland with Tuomas and Johanna mixing our second album, so we haven't been idle. It's sounding suitably widescreenand we are dead excited with it all. We all stay in touch with each other and I do regularly send photographs of beer to Emppu. MH: What are you most looking forward to when all this is over? Troy: Being a musician in the real world again. The wind back in Nightwish's sails. Everyone behaving normally and rationally will be so nice, too. I look forward to seeing people and the glorious communion of playing music for them. I'm a optimist and we'll hopefully all be falling around muddy festivals together before we know it. -
Is Floor preparing for Eurovision? π

About "High Hopes" in Helsinki from End of An Era: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_j5xezCztw "I'm one of the incredibly lucky bastards who got to witness this live. I'll never forget the atmosphere. There's another layer to those lyrics, you see: this was from their last concert with Tarja -- the guys knew that, she and the audience didn't. There was this odd, off vibe to the entire concert, and when this one rolled around and it was just the guys on the stage (she was having a break to change clothes and rest her voice) I remember thinking how odd it is that even though an important element was clearly missing, everything felt... right. Like it should be. That feeling started making a whole lot of more sense after I got home that night and read the infamous open letter." - Darnaguen 2020-12-19

YouTube isn't the nicest social media platform, but among all the crud are lots of interesting comments, insight, good positive stuff that is just nice to read. I will be posting some of that here, because basically it's impossible to search through YT comments, and also because some fans have fun insight into band stuff.

Ok so here's the link for the Tarja-Floor chat replay on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CIjG9AQIVbl/?igshid=1bp41842hykqg They had a nice chat, not many spoilers but Floor does talk a bit about her upcoming album, says it's not going to be pop, not metal, not rock, but possibly dark/moody. Also she's not planning any public events until the vaccine is proven to work, so until then it's only Youtube, sauna and horses. Her last solo shows have been postponed to March but if they're not happening then they will probably be cancelled for good as new music will eventually be made and the show evolve to something else.

Well... this could be interesting. Floor live chatting with Tarja, this Tuesday. What's next, a Tarja collab on Floor's upcoming album? π

More YouTube reactor bait! One of Floor's favourite cover songs, she performed it many times over the years (even with Marko, Troy and Kai on that Finnish cruise ship) but it's good to have a pro recording of her performance. Well done! Alone (cover): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fu-yP6q6Gk Edit: My bad, we already had a pro recording of this cover (with After Forever) on the 2007 Metallic Emotions compilation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpxOKueE-_0

2006: Tuomas Holopainen, the boy who didn't want to grow up
Fugazi posted a topic in Nightwish Media
Here's a old Finnish TV extended interview of Tuomas and family, produced in 2006 for the Maan Mainiot show ("Country's Best"? -- free translation). Tuomas provides great insight into his inner boy, describes escapism and talks a lot about his family. Back then, it probably also provided some explanation to the Finnish public about why the 2005 split was such an ugly PR mess. I just found out about this video recently, so I'm happy to share! While we're at it, here's a better recording of the same performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTZb1ypB08g It's just missing those charming first few seconds with the crowd cheering including that guy (or girl?) yelling "RECORD IT!!!" at the top of their lungs! π Well I'm glad they did!

I thought I would share this here... It's a video that has been available on Youtube for quite some time but it doesn't have many views so I guess that most people here haven't seen it yet. Anyway, imagine the scene. Austin, October 2012, Nightwish just fired Anette and they have been touring with this new singer for about 10 days now. Ghost Love Score hasn't been played live for some 3 years. Not even once during the Imaginaerum tour. Tuomas gives the thumbs up, and this song fires up, totally unexpectedly. Crowd goes crazy in a fraction of a second. Listen to them! There are a couple of videos with this first performance of Ghost Love Score with Floor, but this is the only one I've seen recording the crowd reaction. Must have been so amazing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5xAveq12hQ There are better quality videos out there of this performance, but the crowd reaction is priceless π
